CEO & Co-Founder

BJ is the CEO and cofounder of Digital Operative. BJ drives the strategic vision of the organization while ensuring that all of the agency’s clients are receiving best-in-class digital solutions. BJ has been in “digital” since 1998 and has a hybrid skillset – design, marketing & technology – that has enabled him to translate solutions across consumer touch points. He’s been recognized on lists covering the Most Influential Marketers in 2009, Top 25 Marketers of the Decade in 2010, a member of The Purple List from PSFK, a writer for SearchEngineGuide.com, a mentor/advisor and most recently a judge for the Webby Awards.
BJ is also very active locally, hosting Social Media Breakfast for 3 years, involved with SDSI, SDMBA, speaking for iMarketers/IDSD and at local universities on digital marketing best practices. One of BJ’s most proud moments is helping a nonprofit gain exposure by garnering an appearance on CNN’s “Weekend at War” simply by using LinkedIn.
When he’s not waving the DO flag proudly, you’ll find him on the mountain bike trails of San Diego, rock climbing or competing in beach volleyball.

Adam Levenson

Adam is cofounder and CTO of Digital Operative. Lending his second bedroom for the agency’s start in 2008 was the least he could do. Adam oversees all technology-related initiatives for both clients and Digital Operative.
With over a decade of experience in technology, Adam has helped create interactive teams within agencies from NY to San Diego. Adam’s ability to apply a business-mindset to technology challenges has enabled Digital Operative’s clients to see success in the areas of scalability and performance. He was recently recognized for these efforts with the 2013 IT Executive of the Year Finalist Award from the San Diego Business Journal.
Adam is the “king tinkerer” at DO as well. He’s the mastermind behind the many products over the years, from Doozer CMS (powered sites like Marc Ecko Watches and PONY) to ContestCore (powered contests/sweeps for Sony Music, Legoland, Feeding America, LifeProof) to OrderMonitor. The emergence of products not only has cultivated a hybrid company culture for incubating our own ideas, but also has helped differentiate Digital Operative as a maker of creative solutions.
