The contest strived to inspire younger generations to get outside through an engaging awareness project targeted towards the online outdoor industry. Members were encouraged to share their outdoor activity stories in order to ignite conversation and incite lasting change in “ensuring that the next generation has the opportunity to play outside” according to executive director of the Outdoor Foundation Chris Fanning. Digital Operative applied their expertise to serve as that catalyst which introduces the online community to the great outdoors. Digital Operative has also partnered with Outdoor Nation, an Outdoor Foundation initiative, for two years running in their Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge (ONCC). The successful campaign, which reached 2.5 million people across the nation’s college community, gave student bodies a larger platform to use their powerful voices to motivate as many people as possible into pursuing an active lifestyle. Even Digital Operative’s individual team members concentrate on achieving beneficial outdoor outreach. Dave LaSorte, Vice President of Sales and Business Outreach, has been integral in facilitating donations from outdoor retailers to Outdoor Outreach, a local non-profit. Dave prides himself in implementing the Digital Operative mission to “relentlessly pursue success” in both his community and career work. Along with partnering with the Outdoor Foundation and Outdoor Retailers for 2015 -- Digital Operative will host the Official Outsider’s Ball After Party, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 10pm-1am at The Bodega in Salt Lake City, UT. and will bring their thought leadership to Outdoor Retailers Educational series where CEO BJ Cook and Director of Strategy & Planning Eric Hanser will speak focusing on how to bring digitally focused youth outdoors. Their presentation, entitled Generation Z Inside Out, will provide the best practices on how to engage and inspire the “digital native” generation to be as connected outdoors as they are digitally.
