THINK Together Event-Shorebreak Hotel

THINK Together, a non profit organization is an after school program for low income children. The organization started in the Shalimar neighborhood in Westside Costa Mesa and has now spread to more than 170 schools and community sites across 19 different school districts. They have more than 1000 employees and serve more than 20,000 students per year.

The program is designed to create academic enrichment. Healthy snacks are provided. Students participate in a number of activities for their physical health. They receive instructions from their teachers and are also given help with their homework from tutors.

When the program first started, student grades improved, teen pregnancies and crime rates in the neighborhood dropped. With all those positive outcomes occurring the program became successful and grew to what it is today.

Without this program many children would be deprived of the things most of us take for granted like, encouragement, education, safety, and even something as simple as daily exercise. THINK Together is a program that gives a child a chance they normally would not get.
