In this post, we will recap Sean’s experience with DO. He started 12 weeks ago  and wrote about what he hoped to achieve in our series, 12 weeks – what it’s really like to intern for a digital agency. But, unfortunately it’s that time of year again and we have to say “see you later”!  We asked Sean to answer a few questions about his experience and this is what he had to say:
How would you define Digital Marketing? and how was your role crucial to the success of the Agency?
Digital Marketing, to me, means taking great ideas and brands and turning them into something that people can relate to on a personal level. It doesn't take a lot to reach out thanks to all the social media channels, but to do it well means to be able to reach out in a way that hasn’t been done before. It means thinking creatively on their terms. My role was to engage those people through those channels with content that could relate back to the brand and build something that lasts beyond the next click of a mouse.
Who were your mentors at DO and How did you like working with them?
Reena is everything you could hope for in a mentor! She knows exactly how to turn teaching moments into an opportunity to bring up pirates and Halloween, and to be sure, she knows that ins-and-outs of successful content writing, which allowed be to better further my skills as a writer.
What did you learn from your internship?
First and foremost, I learned the best practices for digital content writing and developed my writing abilities through a variety of channels from blog posts to press releases. I also learned the  best practices for email marketing and case studies for SEO/PPC.
You're finished......How do you feel about completing your internship?
I’m sad! It’s over, and it seemed to go by so fast. This internship gave me a lot of insight into the goings-on of a digital marketing agency in general, but there isn’t anything general about the experience I had here.
Do you still want to go down the same career path after you graduate? Why/Why not?
Marketing still remains a point of focus for me, but I am still open for anything that takes me somewhere else with my writing and gets me involved with people.
What was your favorite part about working with DO?
Having the freedom to explore other areas of interest along a bunch of other interns who were in the same boat as me, and getting to learn on your own terms while getting a feel for the pace of a digital marketing agency.
Would you recommend the internship program to your classmates?
Yes, absolutely yes! This is a great internship because everyone is willing to show you exactly what you’re looking for and will put in the effort to see that you’re doing everything you want to be doing. It is an invaluable experience and you’ll leave spoiled by the opportunity.
What were a few of your favorite memories while interning for DO?
Favorite moments include( and in no particular order): Taco Tuesdays, Bagel Fridays, getting my computer to work…I think that covers it. No, my favorite memories are the little moments spent in conversation with the interns. Getting out to Seaport Village was a nice getaway and I think anytime one of my posts picked up a lot of traction.   We are going to miss Sean - he was always willing to get his hands in everything and we know he is going to be an incredible asset to whatever team he joins!
