Well, it happened...LinkedIn just rolled out its new profile redesign that just like Twitter and Facebook, include larger profile photos and a header image. But don't worry, you still have time to find and edit yet another header image, as LinkedIn is only offering the new changes to its paid premium members (for now). Thankfully, the profile redesign doesn't end with only a more image-centric design, but also with a greater focus on its paid premium memberships. Like several other companies that are having success with tiered-pricing formats, LinkedIn too will offer a "starter package" at $10 a month. Dubbed "Spotlight," the $10 per month premium membership will be a significant price drop from its previous $30-$440 per month memberships. Here's a list of the notable LinkedIn changes that again, are just for premium members (for now):
  • Larger profile photos and header images (you can select one from a gallery if you don't have one).
  • Personalized keywords for enhanced search results (Premium Membership).
  • An "Open" setting that allows you to receive messages and have your profile viewed by anyone on LinkedIn (Premium Membership).
  • Introducing "Spotlight," the new $10 per month plan that offers minimal premium access at a low cost.
Just to make the Spotlight membership sound that much more attractive, LinkedIn will not be making the new updates available to its free users for another "few months." So, I ask you, will you be upgrading to Spotlight today? As always, don't hesitate to get in touch with us for any social media or digital marketing support!
